Forged Aluminum Wheels See Surge in Global Demand

The global forged aluminum wheel industry is embracing remarkable growth in 2026, mainly pushed by the explosive expansion of new energy vehicle production and stricter global energy-saving and emission-reduction regulations. Latest industry data shows the forged wheel market will achieve a CAGR of 9.86% from 2026 to 2034, with the market value expected to hit USD 8.12 billion at the end of the forecast period.

Unlike traditional cast alloy wheels, 6061-T6 monoblock forged rims are 20%–25% lighter with three times higher structural strength, perfectly matching EV manufacturers’ core demand for lightweight components. Each set of forged wheels can cut vehicle unsprung weight by 8–15kg, lifting the comprehensive cruising range of electric vehicles by 3%–6% while improving braking stability and handling performance. More than 82% of new mass-produced EV models now equip or reserve optional forged wheel solutions, far exceeding the 55% adoption rate recorded in 2020.

Apart from OEM factory procurement, the automotive aftermarket has become another major growth engine. Customized forged wheels for car tuning, off-road fleets and luxury vehicle modification occupy 36% of global aftermarket orders, with buyers focusing on personalized parameters, diversified surface finishes and authoritative safety certifications including TÜV, DOT and JWL/VIA.

Asia-Pacific remains the largest supply base for forged wheels, contributing over 43% of global total output. Chinese forged wheel factories are expanding automated forging and CNC production lines to shorten lead times and guarantee batch quality, attracting importers from Europe, North America, Latin America and Southeast Asia to place bulk and OEM orders.

Industry analysts predict that with the continuous upgrade of automotive lightweight technology, demand for high-strength, low-carbon customized forged wheels will keep rising. Suppliers with stable quality control, complete certification systems and flexible small-batch customization capacity will gain the largest market share in the global supply chain competition.
